Self-directed • Satirical, metaphorical, dynamic Flash game
A self-directed project that utilizes a Flash game as a metaphor for the rhetoric surrounding the Iraq war. The design elements, as the game itself, were inspired by medieval “prophetic” documents. A soundtrack plays throughout, and animations introduce and conclude the gameplay.
Behind the scenes is an XML database of over 300 names and concepts, which are weighted based on user response. The user is asked to choose between two randomly selected items: declaring one to be good, and one to be evil. This task becomes progressively more difficult by forcing the user to choose between items that are more and more similar.
An more in-depth explanation of the game is available at my thesis website.
